Certification of administrative documents

Note: Documents such as court order, non-pregnancy certificate, driver's licence eyesight certificate, health certificate, pre-marital health certificate, divorce settlement certificate, retirement  and social security certificates, single status certificate, various administrative and official certificates, and the like, issued by the Australian authorities, must first be certified by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) (Type of certification: Authentication type)

Authentication of medical health records

Note: In order to validate your medical documents, such as documents relating to the payment of your medical costs, which are to be submitted to insurance companies or institutions and institutions for reimbursement purposes in Iran, it is important that such documents be officially released by hospitals or medical clinics on their official letter and signed and stamped by the relevant officeholders.

Obtaining a Single Status Certificate

We can assist you to lodge your application to obtain a single status certificate, please note that the following documents are required for the registration of your application on the Mikhak website:

Verification of Driver Licence

We can assist you to lodge your application to verify your Driver Licence, please note that the following documents are required for the registration of your application on the Mikhak website:

  • Obtaining tracking code
  • A completed driver licence clearance form
  • Copy of the bio page of a valid Iranian passport
  • An Australian valid visa or proof of residency more info

Applying for an Exit Permit

Note:

All absentees of military service born after 1976 who have resided abroad for at least three years may travel to Iran for a maximum of twice a year (calculated in the Solar calendar) and a total of three months of each stay.

This exit permit will be issued to those Iranians whose place of residence on their Iranian passport is designated as Australia.

If the place of residence on your current Iranian passport is listed as "Iran," you could apply simultaneously for a new passport demanding changes to the place of residence to "Australia" along with an exit permit application.

  • National ID card and birth certificate (Shenasnameh)
  • A completed exit permit form , only needed for the first time

Applying for a Duplicate or New Military Service or Military Exemption Card

Note:

If you have an old sample military service card , you can change it to the new smart military service card by visiting the Iranian Embassy in Australia. You need to take your passport and a proof of Australian residency or Australian valid visa.

The Embassy may authenticate your old sample military service card and you need to give your representative or lawyer an attorney power to represent you at POLICE +10 centres in Iran to obtain a new smart military service card.

It is noted that the applicant may personally visit POLICE +10 centres in Iran to obtain a new smart military service card.

  • Organising power of attorney for pursuing military service affairs and obtaining tracking code
  • Completed form for replacement or duplication military service card

  • Original Iranian passport
  • Original Iranian birth certificate and a copy of all pages
  • Original and copy of national ID card
  • 4X recent passport photograph photo guidelines
  • The original and copy of the certified educational certificate .If your educational achievement is higher than the one mentioned in your military service card
  • An Australian valid visa or proof of residency more info
  • The original and copy of your military service card or your military exemption card

Obtaining a Death Certificate

We can assist you to lodge your application for obtaining a death certificate, please note that the following documents are required for the registration of your application on the Mikhak website:

  • Obtaining tracking code
  • A completed form for official registration of death
  • Providing original ID documents for the death registration applicant such birth certificate, valid passport or national ID card.

    Certified copies of any official document with signature such as Iranian passport, Australian passport or Australian driver licence

  • Original death certificate issued by local authorities
  • An Australian valid visa or proof of residency more info
  • Original birth certificate m passport and national ID card of the deceased 

Obtaining a New National ID Card

Please refrain from applying for a Iranian national ID card until further notice is given!

Important points about the national card:

  • Citizenship services abroad may be provided with old national ID cards until further notice is given.
  • If you do not have a national ID card, the original birth certificate (Shenasnameh) is sufficient for you to receive citizenship services abroad until further notice is given
  • The validity of the old national identification cards in the country has expired since the March 2019 and the provision of services is only possible with national smart cards.
  • In order to access any administrative, licensing, land registration, banking or passport services within Iran, you must show the national smart card or its application receipt along with the original old national ID card or original birth certificate (Shensanameh),
  • Iranians living in Australia, when travelling to Iran, may apply for a national smart ID card by submitting documents proving their residence abroad to one of the five civil registration offices in Tehran , Shemiranat or Shahr-e Rey or the headquarter of Tehran General Registry Office in Poonak. You need to have the original birth certificate (Shenasnameh) with you.

Booking an Appointment

You need to book an appointment and visit our office in- person in Parramatta.

Every session could last between 1 and 1.5 hours.

Please attend in our centre at the agreed time. In most cases, if you delay for more than 10 minutes , we need to reschedule your appointment as providing services may interfere with our other appointments.

We endeavor to finalise your application in one session.

2nd Step

Collecting Documents

Please gather the required documents listed in the relevant section on this page and make sure to bring along the originals when visiting us in person.

If any documents are missing or you do not have access to them, please discuss document deficiencies over the phone before attending our office as this may delay the process of your application.

3rd Step

Obtaining Tracking Code

At our appointment, we provide you all the necessary advice on your registration at the Mikhak website and we complete all of the predefined steps about processing your application

We will upload your documents on the website; submit your application and print out the tracking code which is an essential requirement for processing your application.

4th Step

Paying the Associated Fees

Depending on the type of services you choose, we would pay the relevant governmental application fees on your behalf, and include the receipt with your application.

Last Step

Lodging the Application by Post

We attempt to finalise your application in a session with a maximum duration of 1.5 hours

Once you are at our office, we typically complete the application.

Your application will eventually be forwarded to Canberra by post for final processing and consideration.

You will be provided the postal package tracking code; and finally, the document will be sent to your home address directly.

  • What is the specification of an acceptable photo ?

    Your photo must have the following specifications:

    • 35mm to 45mm wide
    • 45mm to 50mm high.
    • Clear, focused image with no marks or 'red eye', visible shoulders
    • Face centred and looking straight at the camera; Non tilted face in any direction
    • Plain white background
    • Uniform lighting (no shadows and no reflections) with proper luminosity
    • No hats, no glasses, no jewelries
    • Women wearing Islamic Hijab
    • Less than six months old
    • Photos be endorsed in Persian language by name & surname; date of birth & national ID Number

     Acceptable Photo Example:

  • Can I apply for a single status certificate with a duplicate birth certificate?

    If you have a duplicate birth certificate, the issue of a single status certificate is subject to the receipt of an enquiry from the Iran registry office, which will prolong the issuing process.

    In the event of urgency, you can apply for a single status certificate from Iran by arranging an attorney's power and referring the attorney/ representative to the Iran National Organisation for Civil Registration to act on your behalf.

  • In order to apply for a duplicate birth certificate, I was asked to send a copy of two valid Iranian documents with my photo on it , what documents are accepted?

    You can provide any of the two following documents:

    • Iranian passport
    • Driver's licence
    • Military service card or military exemption card
    • Educational certificate
    • Identity cards
    • National ID card
    • Birth certificate of father, mother, spouse or children
  • What does an Australian valid proof of residency or visa evidence mean?

    Australian proof of residency includes any documents which shows that you live in Australia.

    The documents are included but not limited to:

    • Australian Passport
    • Australian Citizenship Certificate
    • Visa Grant Letter for a temporary or permanent visa
    • Australian Travel Document

  • What is Mikhak website?

    Mikhak is the Persian abbreviation of the "Integrated Consular Services Management System," an online service platform where you can create, submit and manage applications pertaining to your Iranian citizenship matters.

    The application submitted will be administered by the respective consular section of the Iranian embassy in your designated country.

    Mikhak is the front door of all electronic consular services including passport application, marriage or divorce registration, granting a power of attorney, authentication of documents, etc.

    Using Mikhak you can:

    • lodge an application for a citizenship service including a new passport or birth certificate, etc;
    • track status of your application;
    • provide supporting documents;
    • modify your application;
    • update your personal information.
  • Do I have to use the services of your centre to do my Iranian citizenship matters?

    As applications relating to Iranian citizenship matters including passport, granting power of attorney or registering your marriage et must be submitted electronically and online, some Iranian citizens may find it very difficult to enter the details correctly on the "Mikhak" online system and may require advice and assistance. We can help them to get the request properly entered and recorded in the system and lodge their applications.

    However, in any case, if you think that you have access to the relevant information and have enough confidence, you can lodge the relevant applications directly by yourself.

  • What services do you provide ?

  • Do you legally represent me for my matter ?

    It is a standard practice in Australia where people can nominate a person to represent them or choose a lawyer to handle their paperwork or nominate a person as their representative to Centrelink, telecommunication companies, etc.

    Unfortunately, there is no legal mechanism for us to take direct responsibility for applicants' cases in citizenship matters pertaining to them such as the issuance of an Iranian passport, Iranian identity card, etc.

    The services that we offer is to prepare and lodge your application per the requirement of the Iranian legislation, however, we are unable to legally represent your matter.

  • Do I need to make an appointment to discuss about my citizenship matter?

    Yes. Based on our experience it may take between one to one and a half hours to complete a task related to an Iranian citizenship matter and making an appointment is strongly recommended.

    Unfortunately, we do not provide walk-in services.  

  • Do I need to physically attend in your centre to complete my Iranian citizenship matters?

    In most cases, our assistance requires your physical attendance at the office, but we will advise you in advance if your matter does not require you to be in the office.

  • Do you protect my privacy and my personal information?

    We take seriously the issue of privacy.

    We will not, under any circumstance, allow your private and confidential information to be handed to a third party unless that is required under Australian law.
